Vacation Alert / Some Updates And Musings

I am going out of town for a few days, may return shortly or if I sense any opportunities I might keep it all going. If I capture anything decent I might post the raw files while others, if successful may have to be kept under wraps for a bit for reasons of security and discretion. Maybe I will be back in time to pick up where I left off when last year's housing crisis struck which will be anniversary posts off transfers off the mystery drive and masters folder. As it you are mainly just getting my playlist now and what I am going to have to play is the big missing chunk from the mystery drive when I just didn't want to deal with it last year. Finally started working on that again. Afterwards I fully intend to enjoy my summer leaving less time for the blog. But we will see what really happens. Anything with reel to reel in the lineage is probably mono. All the commentary was done as I heard this stuff for the first time. Tapes were marked with only artist, date, venue so I'd constantly be blown away by this guest or that song played. Thanks to Arbuthnot & SKOTF ----------------------------------------------------------------- The cdr I received had a note saying "Debut? I think so." I looked at the first lp and it not only says it was recorded in April 1977, but that Link Wray joined mid-sessions which would seem to confirm that this is the debut performan

Rolling Stones 2024 Rehearsal Reports (**Spoilers / Complete prototype setlists**)

After my reconnaissance missions a few weeks ago failed to turn anything up closer to home I was finally clued in to the rehearsal location somewhere in Hollywood. Did a drive by late Sunday night with predictably no signs of anything but Monday spotted a few familiar faces and knew it was the place. This time around it was a bit more low key compared to 2013 with less excitement and less people turning up. There was a main street front entrance where the band arrived and where security was concentrated to escort them in and out. When Mick left, one of the bodyguards performed a nightly ritual of waiting until maximum traffic clogged the avenue, then walking out and stopping tit  with a flashlight so Mick could pull out and be instantly surrounded by vehicles. Miraculouly neither the bodyguard or any vehicles in the street were damaged but he deserves hazard pay especially with automobiles murdering pedestrians in Los Angeles on an almost daily basis. Down a side street there was an
