The mainstage area was overpacked and areas beyond the fence overflowing when the band took the stage and the authorities were threatening to shut the show down. Perfect show for a family of 4. A few feet away an oblivious father with a 5 year old girl on his shoulders with a bird's eye view of the chaos  when the mom said I am leaving and I can't handle the kids, when he turned to leave I could see tears streaming down her a face in total fright.

the most packed I had ever seen Pershing Square, before the B-52 show that drew thousands who couldn't get in that led the park to start ticketing free shows, instead of just continuing to book acts appropriate for free concerts in a small downtown park.

 

This was also my first time seeing Spindrift who I caught several times since.

    and do i ever feel your pain on a DAT misload!
    i recorded 2 sets of the soft boys in 2002 at the intimate maxwell's, with the right stack all to myself. around 1:30 am as i embark on my 3 hr drive home...set one sounds stellar. set two: NADAAAAAAAH! fortunately others recorded from nearby so i got a close facsilimile of what i lost, but still hurts!

    thanks for all the great recordings you share here, just stumbled over after a plug from Dark Circle a little while back

Seems like the tour excitement is catching on and a few fans have found this page. I don't have anything specifically rare but might as well put it all up. Don't really wanna clear out any of the Google drives so it has to be Pixeldrain. There is a 5GB daily download limit but I probably only have a few days worth. This collection is by no means comprehensive. Share widely if you wish. To be honest going forward - I don't like posting anything I haven't listened to. I lost track and can't really dedicate my life to Oasis right now so it's up to you to point out any flaws, most importantly CD skips from bad rips or too much diginoise - 2 things that make me trash a recording. back on Friday

Lots of crashing ticket prices but unfortunately I didn't feel like spending 6 hours on the bus to Inglewood and back so I have been taking it easy this week. And finishing transfers. Same old drill, I will write up the info files Friday morning and post, possibly deleting stuff to make room so if you have been dawdling on anything, grab it now because once it's gone, that's it. None of the stuff I was threatening to do in lieu of staying home and working on tapes ever materialized. Too hot, too complacent, THC burnout, etc.  + + + And again. Since I spent $229.60 on a concert ticket last night I will probably skip Herbie tonight and a bunch of other stuff I had on the calendar but it was so worth it. More time to work on transfers and get stuff up and out though.  Same old thing, if I have any new transfers, I will write up the info and post on Friday. A lot of the stuff I listen to like one or 2 songs at a time, throw down the markers, get bored and move on to something e...

Back On Friday

 I guess this means I will be back on Friday with any new transfers I might have done. Which ain't much.   * * * *    I will be back next Friday with at least the uncompleted projects I was trying to get up the other day. I didn't go to a single show in the last week period. I have a bunch on my calendar but other than the Prima Donna show I bought a ticket for, who knows what I will end up hitting. I just got a text from the dearly neglected saying "we should go see Billie Eilish" but I think she was one and done for me at least until she hits the corndog circuit. I might take her down there, find her a ticket and turn her loose inside like I did for the Foo Fighters Santa Barbara show but not spending "real money" on my ticket. I also notice stuff on the blog disappearing beneath the fold - when you click "more posts" at the bottom of the first page, it cuts out a huge chunk of content. Like 6-10 entries.
