A new show drops and I am in a position to drop everything and listen. First show of 1982 in the 2100 capacity Capitol Theatre in Aberdeen, Scotland. It's a soundboard up to Let Me Go then flips to audience recording which sounds like standard cassette in pocket in the last row but I am glad someone put together the complete show even if only a tape side of the soundboard is available.  Posted this on Facebook but worth reposting here: Oasis tour - in 2005 I had an oh shit that's tonight moment and hurried to the Hollywood Bowl, missing the openers and getting a G level super seat for $5. In 2008 they played to about 9,000 people at Staples Center with the upper deck mostly empty. Now I know there are people who weren't even born yet trying for tickets and we are in a more globalized concert market but don't let yourself get gaslighted into panic buying overpriced seats. And whatever you do, don't buy more tickets than you can use yourself. They have 11 months to pull out every trick in the book to maximize revenue and fill as many seats as possible. Now I am glad it's the Rose Bowl and not SoFi as I am much more likely to try to go assuming I am still alive, still living in CA, still have a country, etc. Also they have always been just kinda ho hum live, it's just the incredible first 2 albums / The Masterplan that kept me coming back but I e

Okay I know I said I am ignoring repost requests but I woke up wanting to hear Morning Glory Oasis and this is what I gravitated to. I posted a YouTube link and the following commentary to Facebook: Morning wake up music. PEAK OASIS! Now this is a great Oasis show because they have yet to dilute the catalog with weak albums and completely forgettable songs. The show is still about the music as I would classify Knebworth as more of a mass media event targeted to kids who wanna be where the cool kids are. And in spite of the globalization of the concert market I still don't see them as a stadium act in the US. Assuming the rumors about SoFi or the Rose Bowl are valid, I would recommend holding off on buying. Just let the amateurs and discorders do their thing, then scoop them up closer to showtime. And the only thing they have is a really strong catalog when tilted to the earlier material which always kept me coming back even if they aren't particularly dynamic onstage. I still r

I don't know if I am burned out and taking a semi-break or doing a fade but we will see, as it is I will be doing the minimum to keep you engaged with new releases coming every Friday if available. So I don't have to try to rebuild if I come roaring back. Or more immediate if I just want to put up a raw file or have something to say about something. I used to go nuts when a semi-decent Cheap Trick audience recording turned up yet I can't stay caught up on Bun E's weekly soundboard releases. Listening to Nagoya 79 now. Maybe just demoting myself to passive listener? Actually been mostly watching YouTube videos and lectures. I really wish I had the motivation to become a content creator instead of content leecher. I don't even like Elvis Costello. Got them for a friend who never figured out digital media himself. First on the chopping block. If anyone has any ideas for an easy to use program that scans folders and make lists please let me know. Of course I would post the lists here and just ignore any requests. I should also take pictures of this place. Just so you can see the kind of clutter if not squalor and havoc this hobby has wreaked on my personal living space. Still better this than joining some sports cult or playing with Star Wars toys.

  This is a rant I typed out after the night 1 of Foo Fighters in LA after looking at not too full pit but only tidying up and posting now. Even since I had an email for assistance in selling an extra tickets locked in at above the current market value. * * * How about instead of playing games with the pit tickets and pricing, just sell the tickets at the same price, get a full pit and happy fans?   There were major ticket scams and games at play with the Foo Fighters shows. To "fight scalping" they made the tickets non-transferable, if you can't go, the only way to get rid of the ticket is to put it back on the face value fan exchange via Ticketmaster. At first for this "sold out" show resale tickets would slowly trickle back out, with the tickets often being platinum priced in the $400 range for anything even slightly decent.  It seemed the cheapest tickets were $125 with a smattering in the furthest reaches priced at $102 and those would also trickle out, usu

My 20TB drive is getting near the limit. As the toil of managing an increasing amount of data is taking it's toll I am going to start deleting stuff soon. Just because Mike Millard recorded Yes 142 times doesn't mean I will ever listen to one. I've actually listened to a Yes 6 show times. Saw them twice with free tickets, and transferred the recordings but once I brought 2 devices like WTF would I do that. Both were with the scab singer. I donated blood to KLOS for that ticket too. Not only was I bedridden for a few days missing shows I wanted to see I had to stop making not jokes about slitting my wrists.   Now if anyone wants to me digitize my DVD collection to hard drives I am down but I am going to need an office and a salary with benefits. As if dicking around with concert video all day isn't benefit enough. I may be down for copying the whole thing under certain conditions, like US only, you must make yourself an additional copy, you must share at least a few show

I meant to post a next post Friday days ago. Real slow on transfers and Vegas Anonymous is on hiatus. I almost went to the Linkin Park show tonight. I don't think I ever heard a single song but I like Emily Armstrong. Tickets were crashing hard, could have got in for $40 easy but found out it was already being covered by multiple people who have me outgunned on microphones and probably seat location.   I will at least have some mystery drive stuff I found that didn't have info files and turns out was never posted. Whatever else I can finish I will write up the info files and post. Spending a lot of time cleaning up old raw files on the HD and figuring out what they are and opening act / spoken word stuff I just wanna process out of the pending folder into completed stuff and backing up more of that stuff to DVD - worst format but only marginally more secure than HD only. 

This is all I got for this week. Very tiring but at least not 107 degrees like it is now. Also walked by the Whisky A Go Go the night before but KK's Priest were already on Sinner. Bulletboys were terrible and they annoyed the Accept crew by playing Smooth Up for 12 minutes after they got the last song notice.
