Fanny 50th Anniversary + KMFDM 2023-05-17


Found out about this the day before pre-empting the KMFDM show I was planning on attending.

FREE FOOD! NO PAY TO PLAY OPENERS! OVER by 9:30!

Quite possibly the best time I ever had at the Whisky and even it wasn't that much fun.

Not sure if there was a larger purpose of this event other than the documentary tie-in so I might pull it if I get bad vibes. Of course once it's out there not much I can do but feel free to omit my handle. If I really cared about credit I would put my name on a T shirt and hand out flyers.

And while I was here someone threw me a KMFDM ticket so I spent most of the set trying to find set times to figure out if it was worth it to rideshare right over when this ended. Unfortunately the best I could find out was 9:25 the night before in San Diego.

My friend dropped me off at the Belasco and I caught about half a set. Probably walked in just in time to miss A Drug Against War unless my head was spinning so fast I didn't notice.

Seems like the tour excitement is catching on and a few fans have found this page. I don't have anything specifically rare but might as well put it all up. back on Friday

Lots of crashing ticket prices but unfortunately I didn't feel like spending 6 hours on the bus to Inglewood and back so I have been taking it easy this week. And finishing transfers. Same old drill, I will write up the info files Friday morning and post, possibly deleting stuff to make room so if you have been dawdling on anything, grab it now because once it's gone, that's it. None of the stuff I was threatening to do in lieu of staying home and working on tapes ever materialized. Too hot, too complacent, THC burnout, etc.  + + + And again. Since I spent $229.60 on a concert ticket last night I will probably skip Herbie tonight and a bunch of other stuff I had on the calendar but it was so worth it. More time to work on transfers and get stuff up and out though.  Same old thing, if I have any new transfers, I will write up the info and post on Friday. Back On Friday

 I guess this means I will be back on Friday with any new transfers I might have done. Which ain't much.   * * * *    I will be back next Friday with at least the uncompleted projects I was trying to get up the other day. I didn't go to a single show in the last week period. I have a bunch on my calendar but other than the Prima Donna show I bought a ticket for, who knows what I will end up hitting. I just got a text from the dearly neglected saying "we should go see Billie Eilish" but I think she was one and done for me at least until she hits the corndog circuit. I might take her down there, find her a ticket and turn her loose inside like I did for the Foo Fighters Santa Barbara show but not spending "real money" on my ticket. I also notice stuff on the blog disappearing beneath the fold - when you click "more posts" at the bottom of the first page, it cuts out a huge chunk of content. Like 6-10 entries.
