Notes:
I was rather distraught to find that Gary Numan was trapped behind that Icelandic volcano and was forced to cancel all Cali appearances
including Coachella. Having attended the PIL taping of Kimmel 2 weeks prior (sorry no audio on that one), I contacted some fellow
stranded Numanoids that had travelled from NY and Calgary to see Gary and we hooked up at Kimmel for a little mini-party to see Devo.
This is my gift to them. Surprisingly, after attending hundreds of shows over the last 28+ years, this is the first time that I have
seen Devo live. The boys from Akron (+ Long Beach) ripped through a short and sweet set of 3 classics and 2 new songs. Videos of "Fresh"
and "Whip It!" abound on You Tube. Here is the complete set in all its glory for the first time.
Recording:
I had rather good positioning on this one. Being that the venue was outdoors made mastering this one rather easy. No phasing on this just
a bit of bass to attenuate on this one, though.
Enjoy.
Peace,
