My 2nd Juanes show tho I don't speak a lick of Spanish!

Special guest Elvis Costello!

No one cares that I am going to concerts every night when I am constantly posting about it on social media. No one ever wants to go to anything either. It's just that weird ijwthstd thing. I go to most shows alone or with a few select friends who know the drill and also go constantly. However this Guatamalan lady I know who is following my posts texts me a few days prior and says "Take ME to a concert!" I know she listens to all the Spanish language acts and see this show is coming up in a few days. So I ask, Um ... Juanes? Oh yeah! Not to mention I botched my Hollywood Bowl recording so I felt duty bound to try again.

One thing about her as you might guess from her very forward nature is she makes friends quite easily. So with the 2 guys next to us and the 4 women in the row behind us suddenly we are a party of 8. They are all singing along and yelling back and forth and it turns into a party scene pretty quick.

Usually I hate being within 50 feet of such a situation but it was pretty fun this time. And she was just so excited to be there and knew most of the songs, and it felt so good to see someone so happy which is rarely the case among anyone I know at any show. Don't think I would take her to see Neil Young unplugged though.

Great band and groove to it even if I don't understand anything he is singing or saying (like I do when it's in English anyway). The level of crowd engagement is much higher than your typical classic rock show.

But long story short this recording gets stepped all over.

My Want List

it's been awhile, write to ijwthstd AT yahoo DOT com if you can help     **ETERNAL WANT LIST**  (Nothing added since Dec 25 post, just bumping to the top for new users) In this total media universe with everything at my fingertips, individual shows have taken on a lot less importance, however I still want to get my eyes and ears on these. This was copied off a much older list where I deleted several found titles so it's not impossible I'd say I have plenty to trade but I stopped withholding stuff for those purposes years ago. I can always offer up the super secret Mystery Drive list of my friend's rare masters (1971 to 2017) and pull something from there. Really one of the only things I am hoarding is that list only to preserve my sanity. Remember your hoarded recordings are only worth something while there are still people alive who care.
