Rolling Stones / Gary Clark Jr @ Houston, TX 2024-04-28

Rolling Stones at NRG Stadium, Houston, TX 2024-04-28 just added. Gary Clark Jr uploading now but internet is slow here and I am fading. Also caught Kane Brown and a partial Tyler Hubbard set at Toyota Center the night before. Not my kind of music but definitely my kind of crowd. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1FfMB3qZQamxfneC8IgDNbchR1EQjrLLX?usp=drive_link

Vacation Alert / Some Updates And Musings

I am going out of town for a few days, may return shortly or if I sense any opportunities I might keep it all going. If I capture anything decent I might post the raw files while others, if successful may have to be kept under wraps for a bit for reasons of security and discretion. Maybe I will be back in time to pick up where I left off when last year's housing crisis struck which will be anniversary posts off transfers off the mystery drive and masters folder. As it you are mainly just getting my playlist now and what I am going to have to play is the big missing chunk from the mystery drive when I just didn't want to deal with it last year. Finally started working on that again. Afterwards I fully intend to enjoy my summer leaving less time for the blog. But we will see what really happens. Afraid I also have to get much more selective on shows I attend. I have never really complained about the cost of mass market events as you can play those like the stock market. But now t

FLACs the same, new info/torrent. I am going to try to reseed the whole archive this year, 250 something volumes of seminal New York punk, rock, and no wave. Anything with reel to reel in the lineage is probably mono. All the commentary was done as I heard this stuff for the first time. Tapes were marked with only artist, date, venue so I'd constantly be blown away by this guest or that song played. Thanks to Arbuthnot & SKOTF ----------------------------------------------------------------- The cdr I received had a note saying "Debut? I think so." I looked at the first lp and it not only says it was recorded in April 1977, but that Link Wray joined mid-sessions which would seem to confirm that this is the debut performan

Lastly a ticket stub has turned up listing 4/22/80 as the date that I posted in the comments section. If anyone has other info, let us know! Here, the band returns to the clubs for several shows. Rolling Stones 2024 Rehearsal Reports (**Spoilers / Complete prototype setlists**)

After my reconnaissance missions a few weeks ago failed to turn anything up closer to home I was finally clued in to the rehearsal location somewhere in Hollywood. Did a drive by late Sunday night with predictably no signs of anything but Monday spotted a few familiar faces and knew it was the place. This time around it was a bit more low key compared to 2013 with less excitement and less people turning up. There was a main street front entrance where the band arrived and where security was concentrated to escort them in and out. When Mick left, one of the bodyguards performed a nightly ritual of waiting until maximum traffic clogged the avenue, then walking out and stopping tit  with a flashlight so Mick could pull out and be instantly surrounded by vehicles. Miraculouly neither the bodyguard or any vehicles in the street were damaged but he deserves hazard pay especially with automobiles murdering pedestrians in Los Angeles on an almost daily basis. Down a side street there was an

Tyler drugged out here, but relatively coherent. The band, however, doesn't wait around for him to talk, instead launching into songs as he is mid-sentence, still, give Tyler credit, he sings the songs and doesn't miss much. Cool show in a small venue. At this time Crespo had taken over guitar duties for Joe Perry. After "Ma Kin" a woman in the audience complains the sound is "too loud," meaning it was just right. I guess the band brought

In April 1970, CCR was set to begin its first European tour. What seems very odd to me, is that during this Europeon tour they were headlining, but were only playing 45-50 minute shows. Even the 2 gigs they played at the Royal Albert Hall earlier in the week were also only 50 minutes. The band had 4 studio albums out at this time,  so I'm really dumbfounded at the lack of songs played during this tour. With that being said, these shows were great !! Check samples for quality. Herbie Hancock @ Las Vegas, NV 2024-04-12

It's been a busy week with some activity that may be talked about later even if no recordings to be shared, so I only have 1 new transfer today. Just something I felt like listening to today before I take off. It's traditionally my lifetime favorite activity so maybe I will eventually get into the swing of things though I have every intention of fully enjoying my summer as who knows how many I have left here. In the meantime, Vegas is back with all new rig! He is sending more stuff but it might be a few weeks before I can get to them.
