When I first heard Right Here Right Now it was kinda annoying but it's hard to grab me with midtempo anything. It wasn't I heard Idiot Stare off the following album Perverse that I was immediately hooked. My friend who saw them a few weeks prior at the Universal Amph said they were kinda like a techno Cheap Trick. I think they fell into the trap where their one hit single wasn't really representative of their sound so the people who dug the single didn't like the album and they completely missed their otherwise target audience.

Fast forward to 2002 and they are booked at the El Rey Theatre. Head down and hang out with a few fans outside. Wait for them to open. And wait and wait and wait with the presumed door time coming and going with just the handful of us still waiting. Someone makes some calls and finds out it's canceled and they sold so few tickets it wasn't worth it to even send anyone to the venue to put a sign on the door.

Fast forward again to 2019. A friend is going to England for a bunch of Suede shows and a Jesus Jones show in November. I consider going and even tell him, a seasoned international traveler to let me the know the flight info etc so we can split expenses and save me, with only 1 international trip under my belt, some basic research so I can follow him out of the airport instead of spending too much time Googling the basics.

Between the time he tells me he finally booked his flight and me looking it up a few hours later, the price had jumped. And I suddenly got too busy with work. Work involving summer 2020 events, so I let it slip away. Later on the plague ravages the planet, the shows are canceled, no money made and all the work futile. I guess some sort of life lesson can be learned there.

Then Nov 2021 it looks like I might have a redo with more Suede dates and Jesus Jones at the 100 Club which I bought a ticket for in early 2021. In the end I never booked it and hit up any UK taper I could find on Dime asking if they would record the show for me. Every last one said no, except Chatts99 who said it wasn't possible but would do the following night in Bury St Edmunds for which I am eternally grateful.

MISSING - a tape I had from Boston 1991, need to go up a gen. Just found out there was a Chicago Metro 1990 FM broadcast. There was also a webcast in Jacksonville 2002 according to a Yahoo group at the time but I was unable to secure the recording. Need that if it exists.
