Roger Waters + The Who @ Desert Trip 2016-10-09 (soundboard)


I was there and though I was so over The Who and they have been hit and miss for decades, they sure rose to the occasion delivering the best set of the weekend. I think they still feed off competition and crowd energy.

Processed with Adobe Audition 2018 CC, Har-Bal 3.7, iZotope Ozone 8 > Trader's Little Helper FLAC 8 > shared files.

Audio Remaster Notes:

Adobe Audition 2018 CC
FLAC files are converted to 48000 hz 32 bit WAV for processing
Volume reduced to about -6Db
Processed 1266 possibly clipped samples with Scientific Filter Preset I created
The left and right channels were volume matched
The audio file then was volume matched to -20.95 LUFS

HarBal 3.7
Performed an eq match to my Roger Waters-Pink Floyd samples as a starting point, tweaked,
and outputted the processed audio files

Dogs Repair HarBal 3.7 and Audition 2018 CC
Used the Eq matched Dogs from the original recording as a reference
Auto Center Panning processed the Dogs audience recording
Volume matched the Dogs audience recording to the eq matched Dogs from the original
Eq matched the Dogs audience recording using the eq matched Dogs from the original as the reference
Volume matched the eq matched Dogs audience recording to the eq matched Dogs from the original again
Determined the length and placement of the repair cut in for both Dogs recordings and created markers
Volume matched the repaired portion from both the audience recording and the original
Deleted the audio portion from the original and copied the audio portion from the audience recording

Adobe Audition 2018 CC
Eq matched audio files are loaded into Audition
Auto Center Panning processed
Adjusted audio peaks that were over approx -6 Db
Normalized Audio to 0 db

Ozone 8
Ran the Master Assistant scan process several times till I determined the right combination of settings.
Fine tuned the parameters for Eq, Dynamic EQ, and volume Maximixer. Dynamics processing was not necessary.
Maximized volume to approximately -17.1 LUFS with max peak level of .1 dbTP using tru peak limiting
Converted audio to 44.1khz 16 bit file
Dithered with Izotope MBIT - Medium amount and Higher Noise Shaping

Traders Little Helper
WAV files encoded to flac 8, aligned sector boundaries, and tested
Created Checksum and torrent file

The repair of the clipped samples and Dogs and remaster was approved to share.

Seems like the tour excitement is catching on and a few fans have found this page. I don't have anything specifically rare but might as well put it all up. Don't really wanna clear out any of the Google drives so it has to be Pixeldrain. There is a 5GB daily download limit but I probably only have a few days worth. I lost track and can't really dedicate my life to Oasis right now so it's up to you to point out any flaws, most importantly CD skips from bad rips or too much diginoise - 2 things that make me trash a recording. Anyone have a complete Manchester Dec 1994? The one on Dime is heavily redacted. Can any of the experts recommend anything particularly exciting? back on Friday

Lots of crashing ticket prices but unfortunately I didn't feel like spending 6 hours on the bus to Inglewood and back so I have been taking it easy this week. And finishing transfers. Same old drill, I will write up the info files Friday morning and post, possibly deleting stuff to make room so if you have been dawdling on anything, grab it now because once it's gone, that's it. None of the stuff I was threatening to do in lieu of staying home and working on tapes ever materialized. Too hot, too complacent, THC burnout, etc.  + + + And again. Since I spent $229.60 on a concert ticket last night I will probably skip Herbie tonight and a bunch of other stuff I had on the calendar but it was so worth it. More time to work on transfers and get stuff up and out though.  Same old thing, if I have any new transfers, I will write up the info and post on Friday. A lot of the stuff I listen to like one or 2 songs at a time, throw down the markers, get bored and move on to something e...

Back On Friday

 I guess this means I will be back on Friday with any new transfers I might have done. Which ain't much.   * * * *    I will be back next Friday with at least the uncompleted projects I was trying to get up the other day. I didn't go to a single show in the last week period. I have a bunch on my calendar but other than the Prima Donna show I bought a ticket for, who knows what I will end up hitting. I just got a text from the dearly neglected saying "we should go see Billie Eilish" but I think she was one and done for me at least until she hits the corndog circuit. I might take her down there, find her a ticket and turn her loose inside like I did for the Foo Fighters Santa Barbara show but not spending "real money" on my ticket. I also notice stuff on the blog disappearing beneath the fold - when you click "more posts" at the bottom of the first page, it cuts out a huge chunk of content. Like 6-10 entries.
