Original Misfits + Discharge + Alkaline Trio @ The Forum 2017-12-30

 

This overhyped reunion has to be one of the worst I have ever seen by a major act (even if they were playing bars and not even as a headliner in the original incarnation).

The pacing was terrible. 2 minute songs, YES, but then Glenn spends another 2 minutes catching his breath. Not quite loud enough for earplugs except for the constant feedback squeals. Much was made of the ticket prices but I think I paid about $40 for just released rear angle seats. I didn't stay there, there wasn't even any sound source pointed in that direction. I was in the last row of the lower level directly to the side, PA pointing right at me I think.

This was a phone free show because there were more tickets to sell and Glenn didn't want anyone on the fence to see how terrible it was. The Yonder pouches make great insoles. On the way out when it was unlocked I said I am keeping mine. "I am not supposed to let you but I am not going to fight you for it" so I grabbed a few more.

I was more excited to see Discharge, a bucket list band. But then Alkaline Trio ... These mainstream pop acts they are rounding out the bill with at these shows just don't fit, especially 2nd billed.

Last Call / Brief Intermission

I am completely out of storage options unless I wanna resurrect my FileFactory account, and that would just be rude, so I am going to have to start emptying out the Mega + Google accounts, at least until I can use WeTransfer again. So get it now because once they are gone, they are not coming back. But I don't have many new transfers, Jan is always a dead month for anniversaries and I wanna finish my book which often involves stopping and playing the songs mentioned within for the full immersive experience. So when I finish the book I will empty out the Mega account and post some more shows. Probably not going to reach the level of intensity of the last year or so however which is why I am not spending / taking donations etc. Decided to pump the money into hard drive and better storage options for my physical media.  In the meantime I was been trying for a few years to get audio resynced to a Jessica Von Rabbit video and the same person filmed Mudhoney from against the stage but
