Various Artists @ 1997 KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas night #2 ** Save Ferris link fixed

LIMITED TIME / LAST TIME

The KROQ "Almost Acoustic" Christmas. I remember when they made the transition to Lollapalooza Junior in 1994 but kept acoustic in the name for whatever stupid reason though 90% of the people attending don't have the first clue the difference an acoustic guitar and an electric one. At least for a few years they would broadcast on the radio so I would have no interest whatsoever in going no matter who was playing. Even Bowie.

To be honest since this what put together piecemeal over time not sure if all the interviews were properly included but I might still have the DAT tape somewhere. And in the days when I was still mastering to CDR I would sometimes fill out the disc with other sets. On top of that, a lot of the folders were erroneously dated as Dec 5 but since Wikipedia is always 100% correct I used that to fix the dates.

Enjoy!

  2. Incredible, cheers! Btw, was all of the 1998 sets broadcast? I have The Blink-182 and Offspring set in MP3 (although I have 3/4 of the blink set in FLAC). Do they exist in lossless form? Merry Christmas!

    1. 1998 was broadcast but I didn't record any of it for some reason, probably physically at shows. I think it was at the Shrine that year. I have a little here and there piecemeal. After 1999 I don't think they broadcast but started webcasting a few years later.

    2. Ah I see, awesome! Yeah it was at the Shrine, it had a killer line-up. That sounds right as well, I see no FM recordings after 1999. I see some audience recordings though for certain sets throughout the years, however they vary in quality. I think webcasts began in 2003 - not great quality of course haha. Cheers for the existing recordings anyways though man, great stuff!
