Various Artists @ Coachella 2008-04-25/26/27 (I Won Coachella Tickets!)

2008. It was when they still gave out individual day tickets. Immediately gave day 3 to my friend. He already bought tix for day 1 for Aphex Twin but wanted to see Roger Waters. He drove me there. I gave my day 2 extra to another friend. Got there and sold my day 1 spare. Crashed with friends then went back day 2 then my other friend drove me home. You could trade 10 empties for 1 fresh bottle so I grabbed like 40 bottles early and my water supply for the day. It was fun but mainly based that besides the Breeders and Tegan And Sara I was pretty emotionally uninvested. Toddler with VIP pass stormed the stage during T&S and the bouncers had a look of sheer panic in their face like are we going to have to tackle and subdue a 3 year old but the parents intervened.

Cold War Kids ended at 4:47, Malkmus was scheduled at 4:50, I gathered water bottles for trade in on the way (10:1) and then headed right for the stage. Left the recorder going the whole time. It's most likely the first song it fades in on.

A lot of this was recorded at ground level 30 feet behind the board (sparsely crowded, plenty of leg room) and then there is also a tape flip at some point and I started gathering bottles again during the last song.

Kate definitely brought her A game on Saturday afternoon!  I had heard her concerts were sometimes a little lacking because she was too nervous.  This was a great show and I would see her again without hesitation.  There were some technical difficulties on the first song as the Mohave Tent speakers were overloaded or something...it gets fixed by the time the second songs starts.  The recording turned out wonderful, however! :D  I hope everyone enjoys!

Mark Ronson has enlisted a string of stars to perform with him during his set at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival this weekend.

Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson, Tim Burgess, Sam Sparro and The Rumble Strips’ Charlie Waller will all perform during the producer’s 50- minute set this Saturday in the Californian desert.

Regular Ronson collaborators Kenna, Candie Payne and Rhymefest will also take part, and he promises NME.COM that more surprise guests will be unveiled in the coming days.

A great, entertaining set from a band I've really grown to love.  There were some obvious technical issues near the start of the set, a few of them resulting in some of the equipment nearly falling over.  The overall audio was kind of inconsistent during the set, which according to my meters seemed to get quieter as it progressed.  The rumble you hear is from acts on adjacent stages; rather than try to filter it out I left everything as recorded except for a fade in/fade out at the head/tail.
