The Exploited + Conflict + Total Chaos + Section H8 @ The Regent 2023-05-26



As of last night Wattie was still alive. Been a few months since his last onstage heart attack but it looks like they shock him back to life for every show because from the balls of his feet to the tip of his mohawk and every facial muscle this dude was juiced. Might have been the best punk show I have seen.

And the pacing was impeccable. I usually don't want any 4 band bill, a main reason I avoid punk and metal gigs, but it kicked off with strong set by Section H8 out the gate with each subsequent set a little better. Total Chaos was almost caricature like except for the guitarist who was playing speed metal with some proggy flourishes. He might have been the best musician in the house tonight.

No way Conflict is tracked out right. At some point the volume goes way down but there are still a few spikes so I left as is. Fix it however you want.

The Regent I didn't really like at first but they have really improved the sound in the last few years, free water upstairs, staff is top notch.

Was quite disturbed to see a 18-24 month old, closer to infant than toddler, ride it's moron breeder's shoulder into the pit and across the floor, losing it's hearing protection in the process before settling on the left side right in front of the PA. Thankfully the parade of stagedivers miraculously halted while the sproggen was front of stage. If that kid's head hit the pavement it might be good for the gene pool but bad for the Regent, bad for punk rock in LA, bad any show that draws a younger crowd.

Last Call / Brief Intermission

I am completely out of storage options unless I wanna resurrect my FileFactory account, and that would just be rude, so I am going to have to start emptying out the Mega + Google accounts, at least until I can use WeTransfer again. So get it now because once they are gone, they are not coming back. But I don't have many new transfers, Jan is always a dead month for anniversaries and I wanna finish my book which often involves stopping and playing the songs mentioned within for the full immersive experience. So when I finish the book I will empty out the Mega account and post some more shows. Probably not going to reach the level of intensity of the last year or so however which is why I am not spending / taking donations etc. Decided to pump the money into hard drive and better storage options for my physical media.  In the meantime I was been trying for a few years to get audio resynced to a Jessica Von Rabbit video and the same person filmed Mudhoney from against the stage but
