Performed by...

Peter Murphy - Vocals. 12-String Acoustic Guitar on 04, 06 and 07. Drum on 10. Melodica on 17.
Noise and Reverb Effects on 18.
John Andrews - Lead Guitar. 12-String Acoustic Guitar. Bow on 17. Backing Vocals.
Emilio China - Bass. Violin. Fretless Bass on 11. Electric Violin on 15. Backing Vocals.

The performance:

Peter's voice is always the cornerstone to his performance. Here it is nearly pitch perfect, though he does encounter some
issues from the cold night air rushing in from an open adjacent door (smoker's patio). He has definitely benefited from
the one month off after his Europen tour. Show opener "Cascade" sounds like it was lifted from the album some 20 years earlier.
These arrangements are semi-acoustic, but neverless sound very full. The band comprised of Peter, long time bassist and violinist,
Emilio China and John Andrews  (the other guitar player on "Ninth") are aided by a Virus TI in the background that plays synthesizer
and drum tracks. This is most apparent on numbers such as "All Night Long" and "Gaslit". The arrangements allow Peter's voice to be
front and center, not having to shout over Nick Lucero's live drumming. There are a couple of rough patches throughout, but at least
he didn't sound too hoarse. Peter's guitar tech couldn't seem to get his 12-string to work, so "Indigo Eyes" was scuttled. You can
hear Peter strumming the chords as they try to figure out the issues. It was the only major technical issue and an unfortunate one
because he doesn't perform that song very often. Everything gets sorted out for "Marlene's Dietrich's Favourite Poem". Shades of
Bad Peter rear their ugly head as he hurls his water bottle at some d-bag 15 feet away that was chatting during his performance of
"The Rose". He absolutely berates the guy and a fight nearly ensues. Peter regains his composure for the remainder of the show. The
band closes with 3 Bauhaus numbers including the oft-overlooked "The Three Shadows Part One".

The recording:

A solid pull from the "second" rail. Some occassional chatter can be heard during some of the quieter moments. Fortunately I was
nowhere near the aforementioned d-bag. For an O.C.(D.) audience it is surprisingly devoid of most crowd noise. There is some rather
loud clapping during the beginning of "King Volcano" as some chick squeezes in to my right to clap. Overall, I'm very happy with the
recording as I expected a far worse outcome.

The highlights:

Peter's very reverent tribute to David Bowie in the form of "The Bewlay Brothers" and an emotional renditions of "The Rose" and
"Gaslit".

Enjoy.

Peace,
