Recording Notes: Received this in a trade with a very good friend in Australia.
This is the entire show that was broadcast on FM as opposed to the TV broadcast
(4 songs) on ABC's Studio 22 Show in Australia.

Additional Notes: I first got turned on to Eric Burdon and the Animals in the early
60's as part of the "British Invasion." While the Beatles were "clean," Burdon made
no pretensions that he was anything other than a gritty, bluesy performer, sort of
an "anti-Beatles." Something about him grabbed me as a youth, and forty years later
his voice still captivates me, as he is still one of the better blues singers in
music, singing with passion and pure grit. His trip into music has had many turns,
but he always comes back to his roots as this performance demonstrates. Playing his
greatest hits from the early days with the Animals, the songs have an updated feel,
mixing rock, blues, soul, jazz and reggae into these classic standards.

His backup band (formerly the "i band" became the "New Animals" in 2000) is an
interesting grouping of musicians and musical styles; Bassist Dave Meros (from
Spock's Beard-Neal Morse had just left the Band), Keyboardist Martin Gerschwitz
(Walter Trout and the New Radicals), and the aged/ageless Aynsley Dunbar
(Bluesbreakers, Mothers of Invention and Jefferson Starship.)
