SOUNDGARDEN
Noorderlicht, Tilburg, Nederland
April - 15 - 1990

---
from DIMENEW collection # 150 - celebration day!
---

Rec. Info:
Vivanco EM 160 mic -> SONY WMD6 -> Mastercassette (TDK SA90) -> playback on Harman Kardon CD 491 -> Zoom H2n (at WAV 16/44) -> SD -> HD -> Audacity (edit/volume balance/boost) ->
WAV 16/44 -> TLH8 -> FLAC -> DIME -> YOUR EARS AND MIND...hunted down...
First: This is not a really good recording. There is a lot of distortion from the lower end, also some volume flucturations. Second: This show is worth being the celebrational
number 150, for it's sheer amount of power. Let alone this second argument rule you about this great show.
All thanks to DIMENEW for capturing this show some 22+ years ago...

SOUNDGARDEN - well, I really loved this band way back around this concert date, as I thought they were the real inherits of the Led Zep/Black Sab sound, which I love very much up
to these days (no sign of Stoner Rock to be there those daze). Some maybe talk about METALLICA in this topic, but those got no soul, no groove, just technical approach. That why I
never liked the latter mentioned band. SOUNDGARDEN were the masters of the old legacy, but after the great BADMOTORFINGER they were captured by the - then still - strong music industry.
Superunknown is an album which I do not like. Not about the songs, about the sound. Of course, it's ok, when they earned their success with millions of sold CDs, but the MUSIC suffered.
So, here's a raw recording from a small festival in Tilburg, somthing like a "Talent Contest" (didn't see/read/heard this word up to throwing up too often in the last years?), and they
were the headlinig act. Hmmm, long ago, and hard to figure out why...Two years later they were given a nice slot on Pinkpop Festival 1992. In the pouring rain. I was there. Great!
Have some fun with # 150 of our teamwork. Thank you, DIMENEW, for all the tapes. It's a real pleasure...May we go further on up the taperoad...ENJOY! SB.
