D-A-D + Stargazer @ Trondheim, Norway 2024-10-22 (raw wavs 48/24)



Rather than chase bands all over Europe I decided to just stay a few days in Trondheim and lucky for me, D-A-D's 40th anniversary tour was in town. I got lost finding the venue so didn't get there til 7:50pm. And walked all the way up to the ticket takers, and asked where I could get tickets. "Ticketmaster online only" Uh oh. No Wi-Fi and I never got a local SIM card. The bouncer up front tells me he is trying to find someone to help me.

Meanwhile I just go into my usual routine asking people rolling up if they have an extra ticket, holding cash in my hand to compensate for any possible language barrier. Security guard laughs and says you won't find a ticket that way.

Maybe 30th person walking by says my friend is coming and yells out "Hey I found a guy." Friend comes up and charges me 400NOK which is face minus service fee. THIS WORKS EVERYWHERE. OK, maybe not North Korea but I have done it now in Finland and Norway in addition to multiple US cities. Tickets are always my last detail.

Anyway the venue was a big concrete warehouse but the walls and ceilings were covered in acoustic panel. Venue was just shy of 2,000 capacity. It was full, I stood real close to the left stack but can't really estimate how full. Show was loud. Band was great, they played 108 minutes. Of course my favorite part is Stig Pedersen's various custom bass guitars.

Stargazer I came in during 1st or 2nd song, ridiculously retro and very entertaining. Great vocalist.

Trondheim itself is a great city. Went to several museums while I was there. Stayed at the Chesterfield Hotel which has the best breakfast buffet ever, included in the $100 per night room.

Band Of The Month: OASIS **FINAL 2024-10-10 with Round 10**

Seems like the tour excitement is catching on and a few fans have found this page. I don't have anything specifically rare but might as well put it all up. Don't really wanna clear out any of the Google drives so it has to be Pixeldrain. There is a 5GB daily download limit but I probably only have a few days worth. This collection is by no means comprehensive. Share widely if you wish. To be honest going forward - I don't like posting anything I haven't listened to. I lost track and can't really dedicate my life to Oasis right now so it's up to you to point out any flaws, most importantly CD skips from bad rips or too much diginoise - 2 things that make me trash a recording. Anyone have a complete Manchester Dec 1994? The one on Dime is heavily redacted. Can any of the experts recommend anything particularly exciting? back on Friday

Lots of crashing ticket prices but unfortunately I didn't feel like spending 6 hours on the bus to Inglewood and back so I have been taking it easy this week. And finishing transfers. Same old drill, I will write up the info files Friday morning and post, possibly deleting stuff to make room so if you have been dawdling on anything, grab it now because once it's gone, that's it. None of the stuff I was threatening to do in lieu of staying home and working on tapes ever materialized. Too hot, too complacent, THC burnout, etc.  + + + And again. Since I spent $229.60 on a concert ticket last night I will probably skip Herbie tonight and a bunch of other stuff I had on the calendar but it was so worth it. More time to work on transfers and get stuff up and out though.  Same old thing, if I have any new transfers, I will write up the info and post on Friday. Last Call / Brief Intermission

I am completely out of storage options unless I wanna resurrect my FileFactory account, and that would just be rude, so I am going to have to start emptying out the Mega + Google accounts, at least until I can use WeTransfer again. So get it now because once they are gone, they are not coming back. But I don't have many new transfers, Jan is always a dead month for anniversaries and I wanna finish my book which often involves stopping and playing the songs mentioned within for the full immersive experience. So when I finish the book I will empty out the Mega account and post some more shows. Probably not going to reach the level of intensity of the last year or so however which is why I am not spending / taking donations etc. Decided to pump the money into hard drive and better storage options for my physical media.  In the meantime I was been trying for a few years to get audio resynced to a Jessica Von Rabbit video and the same person filmed Mudhoney from against the stage but
