Judas Priest @ YouTube Theater 2024-10-15 (raw wav)

LIMITED TIME / LAST TIME

Only 1 area show in a 6,000 seater, of course I don't buy tickets so day of it's not looking good. At least not to anyone who isn't me.

Grab a cheap resale ticket that popped up early in the afternoon, then tempt fate and resell it. Actually going depends on nap status so I don't even get there til after Sabaton is on. The one show I saw in Raleigh did not impress. I know the historian YouTubers I watch love them but I just can't get into it. Also Charli XCX was at the Forum so I spent at least 5 minutes there seeing if I could get a $60 ticket in spite of it being a $300 get-in.

Anyway it was work, got a cheap ticket in the parking lot after Sabaton was done pushing my cost to almost free. Yeah I know it breaks every fan code that I didn't agree to but I have had zero income for years so this is how I gotta do it for the more pricey shows from now on.

Great Priest show for the modern lineup, excellent pacing, especially the first half. Crown Of Horns best song in almost 35 years which goes a long way toward legitimizing the current lineup.

Was distracted by the 2 drunk kids in front of me. Right on the aisle. Once he came out into the aisle and stepped on a beer can he dropped there and fell backwards. Right in front of security patrolling the aisle, who I don't want around me. His friend was overly bouncy and twice knocked him over, at least once hitting his head on the aisle railing. So after that I had my eye more on him than the stage. Seen people seriously injured from hitting their head at shows and don't really wanna see it again.

Anyway decent enough recording, unfortunately optimizing for stack placement is just rarely in the budget.

  1. Lol. This reminds me of a show the band did in Royal Oak during the 'Ripper' years.I went there and stood true to my word that I was not paying to see them again. At least with this line up. Don't get me wrong I like 'Ripper' as a front man. Saw 'British Steel' his Priest cover band at Harpos/Detroit long before he ever fronted the actual band. To this day it was the only time I have ever done this. And I have no reasoning behind it, I just decided I was not going in unless I could for free. Met a lot of interesting people as they walked. I never begged, been to enough shows with that dude near the entrance. I don't believe I ever even mentioned to anyone I was looking for a freebie. And I have no recollection of when I finally scored a ticket. But I saw the show for free. Like I said it was a one time deal that worked out. On a side note got my Jugulator cd signed by everyone but Scott Travis who was being a little crybaby at the time.
