Straight from the mosh pit (actually, recorded at a table, center by the soundboard), this recording is rough and raw.  The taper says: "Shows like the Ramones could get a little rowdy.  Not violent but punkers liked to bounce around and especially off each other.  So anybody in the mosh pit became part of the bouncing. You can hear that, and the flow of the crowd, in the tape.   I wrapped my Nak 300's with cardioid tips in a black t-shirt and held them chest high and pointed them at the stage.  My D5 was hanging at my side and I kept an eye on the deck for flips and levels.  I would get bounced around a bit at times but  It was always a good time and I loved coming out of a show and listening to the tape on the ride home."

Tape flip in Surfin' Bird cross faded.

Enjoy!
