Some updates

 

Still struggling with getting the first episode or two of the radio program together. Might have had a breakthrough moment today. If I finally finish and am satisfied with the results then I will likely pause the blog or just host playlists and show notes. Will be seeking support / sponsors. Any donations coming with upload requests will be returned. But like I said, I gotta get it off the ground. I still don't even have a microphone. Just endless drafts of scripts and playlists. And figuring out how to tighten up run on sentences for speech.

Spent 2 days in the sun last weekend which seriously hindered any progress for several days after. Letting that and of course the news and personal problems mentally affect me has always been one of my greatest weaknesses.

I don't feel good. I have health insurance but no idea what it really is or how to use it. Guess I will find out soon enough. Could have had a subsidized AC/DC ticket but just didn't feel like I could do it. Though preferable to SoFi for sound and vibes, it takes hours to get in and out of the Rose Bowl area either via shuttles or more likely just walking.

Fired up the trusty old Tascam CDRW700 and the tray won't open. It was a good run but I guess I won't be doing any more tape transfers. Now I did agree to do a bunch of interview tapes from the 1980's in exchange for someone's plus one for a very recent sold out show but I would rather just pay for the ticket. Either way I just cannot bothered to start trying this and trying that along with all the other challenges to overcome. Maybe someone digging out the Anthrax Long Beach Arena tape I have been after since I first met the taper in 1991 would motivate me. Or not. I guess I will have to live with the thought that I will die before I can hear it and the tape will just end up in the trash. It's not like I even listened to that band past 1994.

      Oh yeah, I got this like 2 weeks after the show, that was the one I was at. Night one was recorded by Pete on my recorder. I was referring to the Headbangers Ball tour 1989, if you have that, that would be amazing. But no one does as the tape was thrown in a box, and put in the attic and the trap door at the top got blocked with everything permanently locked inside until archaelogists unearth it centuries from now. My offer of getting a chainsaw and going in thru the ceiling was rejected. This house is on the same street as mine a few blocks away so it's not like it would otherwise be a complicated endeavor.

    the thing about health care is you might have a deductible that you have to meet first. could be $1000s. but you should get a cheaper price for whatever you go in for than if you walked in off the street with no insurance.

    I started drafting this a few weeks ago but things keep changing. Feel free to disregard, if anything this is more of a diary / journal entry. I was hoping to have a lot more transfers but there is so much stuff on my February list that wasn't posted in years past that I really wanted to listen to. When the choice is the Itchy Pissholes in Vegas and The Who I will usually choose The Who. And I really have to listen to it as a few had inherent and correctible flaws such as CD skips and were thus trashed. And attempts at upgrades get me the exact same thing. Just merely being a conduit for recordings I have no intention of listening to just doesn't work which is why other than the odd untracked master I am not sending anything out I haven't heard. I always intend to post full comments and review but never do. Maybe next Friday I will have more as I recorded a few things and Vegas Anonymous keeps sending me stuff. My DVD Collection (Pictures)

 Getting some containers off Amazon but will probably be purging a lot. Not even watching anything right now and barely watch any of these. The format is terrible and those slimline drives are just foul. Dual layers? Even if I can get one to successfully burn now it will be unwatchable in a few years. Too bad, love video but can't make a career out of it. Or if I can, lemme know how.
