My DVD Collection (Pictures)

 Getting some containers off Amazon but will probably be purging a lot. Not even watching anything right now and barely watch any of these. The format is terrible and those slimline drives are just foul. Dual layers? Even if I can get one to successfully burn now it will be unwatchable in a few years. Too bad, love video but can't make a career out of it. Or if I can, lemme know how.

    That's quite a stack(s) I have been putting everything on external drives (with a mirror backup) of all my videos as well as audio. It's a lot of drives but no where near when I had all the physical discs

      I just do not have the time for that and in addition I would probably go through dozens of drives. That's only part of the collection. A thru E, the 2 band name boxes and a box of stuff to be filed. The bookcase is Aerosmith, Rolling Stones 2021-2024. Michael Monroe / Hanoi Rocks and movies / docs in addition to most official releases. All the festival stuff once on spindles is now in notebooks. Wish I could just start my own streaming site and license all that. Still too much work.

      I'm presently capping-off a two-year run of transfers to large format (multi-terabyte) hard drives. I'm tempted to say send them to me in waves...a few hundred at a time...and I could do the same for you...but am I that much of a masochist? Beauty part: saved as disc image (ISO) files, you can mount them on a virtual drive, and play back from a computer without need of an optical drive.

      I am not sure I want to sink that kind of money into this (I haven't worked in a few years) other than the storage I am getting off Amazon or even let too many go at a time.

      If you're talking about DVD's I might have some Slayer and Slipknot but it's buried and I likely don't have anything that can't already be found on YouTube.

More transfers on Friday? Possibly.

    I started drafting this a few weeks ago but things keep changing. Feel free to disregard, if anything this is more of a diary / journal entry. I was hoping to have a lot more transfers but there is so much stuff on my February list that wasn't posted in years past that I really wanted to listen to. When the choice is the Itchy Pissholes in Vegas and The Who I will usually choose The Who. And I really have to listen to it as a few had inherent and correctible flaws such as CD skips and were thus trashed. And attempts at upgrades get me the exact same thing. Just merely being a conduit for recordings I have no intention of listening to just doesn't work which is why other than the odd untracked master I am not sending anything out I haven't heard. I always intend to post full comments and review but never do. Maybe next Friday I will have more as I recorded a few things and Vegas Anonymous keeps sending me stuff.
