LIMITED TIME / LAST TIME
GANG WAR
THE RITZ, NEW YORK, NEW YORK, USA
AUGUST 28, 1980
AUDIENCE RECORDING BY SKOTF
SKOTF ARCHIVE VOL. 20
AUD>MASTER CASSETTE>STAND ALONE BURNER>WAV>FLAC
I am going to try to reseed the whole archive this year, 250 something volumes of seminal New York punk, rock, and no wave.
All the commentary was done as I heard this stuff for the first time. Tapes were marked with only artist, date, venue so I'd constantly be blown away by this guest or that song played.
Thanks to Arbuthnot & SKOTF

Gangwar flood continued: I was at this show - Gangwar's final performance. 30 years later I am thrilled to finally hear it again. Billed as the NY Boy's Night Out there were 4 other great bands on the bill. A couple of those sets are in the archive but wont surface for a while so here you go with the headliners. For the encore Wayne promised a "Supercalifragilistic Jam" and they delivered. Lenny Kaye, Waldo, Flipper (and more) all guested on the last few tunes. The guitars could be a little more present in the mix, but what can you do. All in all it's a very listenable recording. Like all SKOTF shows this is either uncirculated or a dramatic upgrade with known lineage. Fresh burn/master cassette.
BAND:
Johnny Thunders - vocals, guitar

Anything with reel to reel in the lineage is probably mono.

Here's another set from the NY Boys Night Out. Lenny Kaye and Gang War are already on the tracker. I searched for my Heroes single and did not turn it up so I cannot give you the full personnel for this. Can't remember if Billy Rath was in it or what. [2018 edit: I found the single on Skydog - it has Henri Paul and Steve Nicols (sic) along with Walter and Billy. This is surely not that lineup but is almost definitely as listed] In any case, it's Waldo so you know what you are going to get. Coupla really rare tracks on here. [2018 edit: Walter is working on a new Waldos record and was looking for material. I got him a couple of sogs from the archive that he had completely forgotten about including Here Come The Zombies. I don't know if it made the cut or not.] Fresh burn/master cassette.
BAND: Walter Lure, Billy Rath, Richie Lure, Billy Rogers
