Possibly no new transfers for awhile
I know some people are here just for the new stuff, not my personal playlist.
But when it comes to the Spin Doctors at some free show in the park or The Who, The Who are gonna win every time. The whole fall is the original 1982 farewell tour anniversary and as you might know I have kind of a fascination / obsession with that tour ever since I cried right before my 9th birthday when I couldn't go see them but did watch the ON TV PPV. So I plan on listening to every show and then squeezing in whatever SKOTF - Neil Young etc still pending. I might be missing one. I know I don't have Cedar Falls, the first NYC show and maybe missing Boulder tho I had a decent cassette way back when.
Back when I was recording crummy cassettes I did it so I could trade for the stuff I wanted to hear. So right now it's what I wanna hear.
Also adding in all my official releases to the mix even if I am not uploading.
I did tell VegasAnonymous if he sent me a specific show he recorded right away I would bump it to the top and work right on it. He didn't send it. I already watched the show on YouTube.
Still trying to work in listening to a complete Joe Perry Project headline show and the new Suede shows.
Just enjoying being a passive listener unless something really compelling comes along.
Still going to a lot but once I have gone I kinda forget about it. Maybe Dec/Jan/Feb will be as slow as it was last year and I will work on more or maybe I should take that time to get my life in order. Not that there is anything I would rather do with it than just listen to music but that doesn't pay the bills.
Wanna go this Vegas this weekend but hoping to have a ride. The options otherwise are somewhat prohibitive.
Also have some possible trips and not all music related in October. Maybe I can bring some music with me. Internet on the laptop not working though and I think it's a hardware issue. Probably why I am not watching as many history vids right now.
Keep checking back I guess.
No problem. Enjoy. It’s your blog or whatever, and it should be fun, not a job with deadlines. I’ll keep on checking in and looking into some older posts. Thanks
ReplyDeleteYou’re doing us a favor. Take care of yourself and we’ll keep checking. Thanks again
ReplyDeleteFirst off your site your choices. Right now I really enjoy the SKOTF posts - I have a lot but they are buried in my multiple hard drives so not only have you posted some I never saw before but I get to to revisit some I know I have somewhere. I have been also grabbing the Who tour - spot listening and hoping for some time to dig a little deeper. Your site always has something that piques my interest and is why I check in daily. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time and thank you for your time and all the shows...
ReplyDeleteIll be in vegas ar Reggae Rise Up this weekend.Woo Hoo
ReplyDeleteMan, I know what you mean about the Who '82 fairwell tour. I was thirteen at the time and I actually believed them that this would be their last tour. :) They were supposed to play two shows at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia and I had tickets to one of those shows. Unfortunately, they canceled the date I had tickets for so they could play an extra warmup show in Landover, MD. I still have the two Memorex cassettes that I used to record the 12/18/82 national radio broadcast of the Toronto show. For not having Keith Moon anymore, I thought they sounded really good on that tour, and they would throw in different little surprises at each show. Take care of yourself brotha!
ReplyDeleteI was lucky enough to see one of the Shea Stadium shows. I still remember my friend lighting up. The Buddha Bud joint when won't get fooled again started!
