"Rush Concedes Resellers Are ‘Having a Field Day’ With Their Reunion Tour" Article and comments

They are low key encouraging their "fans" to buy "extras." They have a lot more tickets to sell than probably any Rush tour in history now. Don't fall for it.
Secondary and possibly primary prices were already falling even before the dozens of added shows.
And if you bought a $3000 travel package for LA only to find out Omaha got added, you didn't get swindled. You are still getting the show, trinkets and perks you paid for.
Remember, this is a for profit business regardless of any emotional or nostalgic attachment to the product being sold. It always has been even if it took awhile for the acts to catch on and the fans are still in denial.

I'm a little interested in this show but I refuse to buy tickets a year in advance. I'll wait & see what's available closer to the date of the show & for how much money.
ReplyDeleteI was slated to get pre sale tickets for L.A. and when it was time to buy I was met with a dialog box that informed me I could only buy tickets with a Citi Bank Mastercard. WTF? I never heard of such as stipulation. I then waited for the general population sale and when it was time for me to purchase those all that was left were lodge seats (the back) for 838$ a seat before tax. I love Rush but no way. I live in Eastern Europe where ticket prices are very affordable. I saw Pantera in February for 60$, Maiden for 90$ & recently Lacuna Coil for 35$. I'll wait for the Rush gigs to show up on YT or the usual boot sites.
ReplyDeleteThis is normal. Presales are open to certain credit card holders, usually Citi or American Express with the occasional Capitol One. I would say it will likely be a much easier ticket by showtime but not sure if I would recommend making the trip from Eastern Europe on that risk.
