I am just assuming I will be unable to attend the private show Oct 3rd but if you can ease the way anyhow, let me know. So chasing the possible last show ended up being a futile exercise after all.

This is all pretty much a blur now but I will do my best. I am way too tired to proof read this. Lots of grueling travel. Might add more tomorrow

Night 1

For Joe Perry Project I stayed near my original seat way up high. There are already 2 other sources for this. I so wanted to see a headline show. Not really all that excited at the thought of more Aerosmith shows especially with Yungblud. 

The Who - moved into E section around row 8, might be a little overloaded. 

I might some day tell the excruciating saga of my extra ticket. Had 2 but my girlfriend couldn't go. She was already taking time off for Nine Inch Nails.m 

For the 2nd night I bought a ticket for $34.50 at the box office after asking around for a few minutes. 

The Offspring was a late add as opener and went over really well. But they just did a headline show at the the Forum at the end of August. Also sounded way too slick. Slicker than Joe Perry, slicker than this version of The Who, even slicker than Billy Idol. I guess they are supposed to be a punk band even if by 1994 most of the subgenres were really just pop music. The soundscan effect. 

Moved into K under the video screen, unsuccessful getting into E this time even though it was half empty. Kind of a party atmosphere which was fine under the circumstances. 

For Las Vegas I was first hoping to bring my girlfriend and checking out a Motley Crue show the night before but it just wasn't possible for her. I kinda wanted to go to opening night but after seeing it on YouTube I saw it. If I went to Vegas without her it would have been Santana. 

Then I was hoping to find a ride but it never came thru. I smoked myself into a total stupor the night before figuring I just wasn't going to go but it was okay because I could just go see Ice Cube finally. Passed out around 10pm listening to the Neil Young show posted the next morning. 

Woke up 7:15am and still could book Greyhound so just did it. Then immediately got notification that bus was delayed 2 hours. Booked another that was scheduled an hour later over original departure and earlier than reschedule. If any issues decided I would just take the flyaway to LAX for a $66 (or whatever it cost a few hours later) flight. Made great time. Of course rolled up to the MGM ticketless. Ended up getting handed a free one in the back but moved down a bit closer to VegasAnonymous for The Who since he had almost a whole row to himself. I think it might have sounded better where I originally was but there is a lot of weird stuff going on with The Who's sound so I can't say for sure. 

At least got to walk a few of my favorite places a little before and after the show before catching the 2:30am bus back. Came in way under budget until I decided to eat. Miss walking up and down the strip but not buying food. At least during my extended excursions of 2022 I was staying off strip and could just shop at the grocery store. 

Totally grueling trip so don't expect too more in the near future. With these The Who and McCartney shows it almost feels like a last gasp / end of an era for real. If the Stones don't come back, what's left, Chicago with just the trumpet player? I never liked that band anyway. 

Palm Desert was a challenge once again. I put it on blast that I would cover the bane of all concert goers, parking, expecting as usual no takers. First hit if I can make it to Riverside and I can. Then 2 days ago a friend much closer is making the trip. I ask if we could pick up my friend in Riverside since he was cool enough to offer. Told Riverside isn't on the way though it was on the map I was looking at. Friend in Riverside, also a taper is cool, says he can still get there easy. I was thinking more of the parking I offered. 

Then he asks if I am finding him a ticket. Even if the draw is discounted box office tickets in every section in addition to secondary offerings. Decided actually having to guarantee a ticket was more trouble than it's worth especially when I discovered I could go all the way on the bus and get a room in my price range. Then a professional photographer who lives on my street told me he was approved for the show so I decided to go with him. But also not sure when he is leaving. He had a ticket and parking. 

Didn't sleep well. I let the whole thing get to me. Turns out the friend might have a free ticket secured through the crew after all but with me out of the picture not as interested in going and paying for parking. He should have just gone.

They repriced once again and I got a really good single for $64.50  The kind of ticket they were originally selling for $300 or so.

Got there real late, like jump out of the car before it's parked and get to my seat at 7:28pm. Run into Sean Wheeler in the hallway. 

Turns out if I showed up late ticketless at 7:40 there were 5 front row tickets (Sec 1 row 1) for $289 each but I get a discount too.

Some dude yelling a question in my ear during The Who that I just ignroed. What the fucking fuck. Someone fix that.

Otherwise great show. Really small venue. Really like it, but another 7 hours or so total in a car. 

I'm so tired.

This is pretty much the Roger Daltrey band with Pete Towshend. The drums are almost muted, all instruments low but sometimes Pete Turned up. Roger singing amazingly though. He knows everyone is watching it on YouTube the next morning and he is just crushing them all night.
