Anya Phillips influenced fashion, sound and look of the New York-based no wave scene during late 1970s. She died from cancer shortly after this show in June of 1981.
The ad for this benefit show lists special performances by Brenda Bergman, Joe Bowie, August Darnell, Jimmy Destri, Rob Duprey, Maria Duval, Debbie Harry & Chris Stein, Richard Hell, Ivan Julien, Arto Lindsay, Walter Stedding, Tish & Snooky, plus special super funky guest stars.
This historic recording has been shared here on DIME in the past - many thanks to the original taper and uploader.
