Son Seals Blues Band
Chicago Blues Festival
June 10, 1988
Pre-FM SBD>VHS Hi-Fi>Peak Pro 5.2 for tracking>flac
This is the first seed in what will be pretty much the complete 1988 Chicago Blues Festival in performance order.( I've skipped the Otis Rush/Buddy Guy set because I believe I've seen it here in a more complete version than I have.
If memory serves me (and it doesn't always ... being a survivor of the '60s is my excuse) these were all recorded directly off the satellite feed at a public radio station where I used to work. The were made on a VHS Hi-Fi unit with a built-in limiter. I copied them onto my Mac and tracked them using Peak Pro 5.2.
I could use some help with titles for the opening instrumentals. Track 2 is very familiar but the name eludes me. I'm also not too sure about Track 6.
BTW, if you dig the blues, do be sure and check out http://www.bluesaccess.com, the site of the now-defunct magazine I used to publish. There are plenty of cool articles you can read online.
