We are extremely pleased to present a super rare and previously uncirculated SB recording
of Eric Burdon & The Animals from Bologna, Italy in 1967.

On June 16th, 1967 Eric Burdon & The Animals played at the legendary Monterey Pop
Festival, portins of that performance is documented on audio and video.

Very little is known about the short 3 date Italian mini-tour they embarked on 
the week prior to Monterey. What we know is that the band landed in Milan on
June 9th. They performed on June 10th in Milan, playing in the open air at the 
Velodromo Vigorelli. This particular show was far from a success, battling inclement 
weather some reports put the attendance at less than 300 people. A few photos from 
performance do survive and appear to support low attendance.

We also know that immediately following Milan the band played Bologna and Florence.
What we don't know is the exact date of the Bologna show. We have put the date as
June 11th based on the information it was played right after the Milan show. 

The recording comes our way from my old friend MR and was given to him by a member
of one of the opening bands. It is unknown who prompted the recording, if it was the
band, the promoter or one of the opening bands. Regardless there are very few 
live recordings from this era and it's a special treat to hear this one 52 years later.

The raw capture off the soundboard is somewhat of a rough mix, the vocals are up front
and higher in the mix than the instrumentation but not to a fault. It also ran 40 cents
fast and has been adjusted. Samples provided.

The tape opens with two songs from 'The Animals', it is assumed these are from either
an earlier show or possibly the Milano show as we believe Florence took place after
Bologna. We then get treated to two songs by one of the opening bands 'I Condors'.
Next up is The Animals main event, it is unknown if this is the complete show. There
were a couple of additional audience recorded songs after the SB portion but they did
not sync up with this show as 'Tobacco Road' followed what was only the end of
'All Night Long' which was clearly not the version found on the former SB portion.
We have not included these as they are very poor quality and they suffered from CD rot
that I tried but was unsuccessful in removing.

It's not often tapes from a legendary band and historic time in their existence surfaces
and we thank MR for allowing us all access to them.

My Want List

it's been awhile, write to ijwthstd AT yahoo DOT com if you can help     **ETERNAL WANT LIST**  (Nothing added since Dec 25 post, just bumping to the top for new users) In this total media universe with everything at my fingertips, individual shows have taken on a lot less importance, however I still want to get my eyes and ears on these. This was copied off a much older list where I deleted several found titles so it's not impossible I'd say I have plenty to trade but I stopped withholding stuff for those purposes years ago. I can always offer up the super secret Mystery Drive list of my friend's rare masters (1971 to 2017) and pull something from there. Really one of the only things I am hoarding is that list only to preserve my sanity. Remember your hoarded recordings are only worth something while there are still people alive who care. I Commited An Offense That Results in a 3 month Pixeldrain suspension

Yet it still seems to work. Basically found a file on Sharemania from some ridiculous overrated act I don't even like and won't name from Coachella then reuploaded for a friend who was looking for it but could or would not navigate the original site it was on.  Though I renamed it wedding video it was still pulled immediately and I was told it would result in a 3 month ban from uploading and my IP address would shared with the rights holder. Oops. Of all the aspects of my life requiring extensive troubleshooting, finding a new provider that will keep the files as long as Pixeldrain isn't one of them. So if that happens, it will likely just result in a 3 month hiatus. Any possible legal action? Likely not survivable but we all know this level of passion and involvement comes with it's own risks.
