I didn't even mess with the setlist but recall a cover of The Weirdos Life Of Crime


Well I must admit I only knew 3 things about The New Christs before I saw this gig.
.
1. They were formed out of the ashes of Radio Birdman in the early 1980's.
2. They were one of the kick arse Sydney pub rock bands of that era.
3. Long time Hoodoo Gurus drummer Mark Kingsmill was in an early line up of The New Christs.
.
So after a bit of research I found out members of the following bands are or have at some
stage been in The New Christs.   Radio Birdman, Hoodoo Gurus, The Hitmen, Celibate Rifles,
Lime Spiders, The Saints, Zambian Goatherders etc etc.   A fine bunch of musicians.

The New Christs Face Book page lists the following people as the current line up.

Rob Younger - Vocals
Jim Dickson - bass
Paul Larsen - drums
Dave Kettley - guitar
Brent Williams - guitar

A few people mentioned there was maybe a ring in or 2 on the night but the gig was still pretty
darn good.  Rob, Paul and Kojak were definitely there.  I have no idea about the song titles.
I didn't grab a set list at the end of the night.  I have taken an educated guess at some of the
song titles.  If someone can help me with the titles I will update this info page.  Tonight the
venue was Beaches Hotel in Thirroul which would have been similar in size to one of those beer
barns they played in the 1980's.

The Who 2025 round up

So chasing the possible last show ended up being a futile exercise after all. This is all pretty much a blur now but I will do my best. I am way too tired to proof read this. Lots of grueling travel.
