The UFO double album Strangers In The Night was long thought to have been
recorded in Chicago.  But I think little of the Chicago show actually made
it to the final SITN record.  Six shows were recorded for SITN:
Oct 13 1978 Chicago
Oct 14 1978 Kenosha WI
Oct 15 1978 Youngstown OH
Oct 16 1978 Cleveland OH
Oct 17 1978 Columbus OH
Oct 18 1978 Louisville OH

Of these six recordings, the Cleveland Oct 16 show is part of the UFO
Official Bootleg Box Set 1974-1983 that was released in 2009.
Also, the Youngstown OH from Oct 15 1978 is set to be officially released
on Record Store Day June 20 2020.

The crowed size was the largest in Chicago, so the opening intro "Hello
Chicago, would you please welcome from England - UFO" was certainly from
the Chicago show as well as Lights Out (or parts of Lights Out) where Phil
Mogg sings "Lights Out, Lights Out Chicago" followed by an audience roar.
If you listen to this audience recording of Lights Out at 3:05, Phil will
sing Lights Out Chicago and then again at 3:18 Lights Out Chicago.  But on
the SITN version at 2:40, there is only one Lights Out Chicago.  Also on
this audience recording there is no audience roar following the Lights Out
Chicago line like there is on SITN.

Most of the officially released SITN comes from Youngstown OH and Cleveland
OH with only a few pieces from Chicago.  Two tracks, Mother Mary and This
Kids, on SITN are actually studio tracks with crowd noise from Chicago added
in to make them sound live.

If you want to hear the true Stranges in the Night, then this audience
recording from RB is a gem to enjoy.  A higher generation version of this
recording was released on Hot N Ready as a pressed 2CD Japanese bootleg
(sometime around 1992-1996).  I say thank you to a fellow DIMER for sharing
Hot N Ready with me a number of years ago.  But this torrent is an upgrade
from Hot N Ready because it is a fresh transfer from RB's master cassette.
Thank you again RB!!  Please listen and enjoy!

Samples will be included.

If you make a comment, please remember to thank RB - the original taper.
