I actually had a free ticket to this, but was staying in Vegas. Gave it to my roommate who really likes Khruangbin but also said if it would be possible to sell it so I also arranged a sale / meet for him at the park. Only set I ever grabbed and listened to.

NOTES:

I know it's been a year and a half (feels MUCH longer) since this set/recording happened, but in light of the news of Steve Albini passing away, I thought I'd go to work on editing this and getting it out there and uploaded for all fans alike. Waking up to that news really stung, and Steve is directly responsible for recording/engineering some of my favorite albums of all time with the likes of "Surfer Rosa", "Pod" and of course "In Utero", plus countless others. Such an incredible talent alongside all the music he wrote and bands he played in, including this here, Shellac.

Of course they had their custom built (full of secrets) amps on stage that the band wasn't too keen on talking about during their Q&A's in between some songs. I remember it was a bit hot out with not much shade to be found, but that's festival life, so you just sorta have to grit your teeth and endure, especially if you're taping. Happy to say, despite the heat and a little wind, this came out sounding pretty good. The band sounded great and loud, and the stories/jokes that Steve, Bob and Todd told were amusing as well. Overall, not a bad way to spend an hour in the afternoon at a festival.

I couldn't quite figure out what the first song of the set was, but I'm guessing it could be "The World Series of Dick Sucking" according to Setlist.fm and other sets of theirs around the same time? Who knows.

I do wish Primavera would come back to LA, as it was a cool festival with some good curation. And of course, once again, this is dedicated to Steve Albini and all that he gave to the world of music. RIP <3

More transfers on Friday? Possibly.

    I started drafting this a few weeks ago but things keep changing. Feel free to disregard, if anything this is more of a diary / journal entry. I was hoping to have a lot more transfers but there is so much stuff on my February list that wasn't posted in years past that I really wanted to listen to. When the choice is the Itchy Pissholes in Vegas and The Who I will usually choose The Who. And I really have to listen to it as a few had inherent and correctible flaws such as CD skips and were thus trashed. And attempts at upgrades get me the exact same thing. Just merely being a conduit for recordings I have no intention of listening to just doesn't work which is why other than the odd untracked master I am not sending anything out I haven't heard. I always intend to post full comments and review but never do. Maybe next Friday I will have more as I recorded a few things and Vegas Anonymous keeps sending me stuff. My DVD Collection (Pictures)

 Getting some containers off Amazon but will probably be purging a lot. Not even watching anything right now and barely watch any of these. The format is terrible and those slimline drives are just foul. Dual layers? Even if I can get one to successfully burn now it will be unwatchable in a few years. Too bad, love video but can't make a career out of it. Or if I can, lemme know how.
