We are thrilled to continue our series of releases featuring material from a dedicated West Coast taper and collector who passed away a few years ago. Prior to his passing, he meticulously transferred his extensive archive onto CDR's and entrusted them to a close friend. This friend, a stalwart of the Bay Area music scene for over five decades, understands the importance of sharing these historic shows with the collector’s community.

Our 46th release is a true gem, drawn from our anonymous collector's audience master tapes captured on the fifth night of Santana's five-night stand at the Old Waldorf, supporting the yet-to-be-released Zebop!. The setlist and pacing are exemplary—truly some of the best Santana performances you’ll ever experience.

Once again, our taper delivers a knockout with another stunning capture. This release offers you for the first time the complete audience master

Previous versions include an incomplete FM broadcast and a complete FM/Aud mix from “HermanLR” that features the final eight songs—sourced from the same recording. As with our February 3rd and 4th shows, the balance is impeccable, and the fidelity is simply beautiful (samples provided).

We owe a debt of gratitude to the anonymous West Coast collector (may he rest in peace) and his motivated friend, who recognized the importance of preserving these historically significant shows before they were lost forever. A special thanks also goes to dime member “davmar77” for facilitating the connection, and to Goody, our pitch master, for his unwavering support of all our historic releases.
