LAST CALL / I may have to start using File Factory
Or start deleting stuff that has been up only a week or two and then I have a bunch more repost requests to ignore.
I am trying to figure out how to get them up on FF by complete folders, not individual tracks but I can create the folder on FF and drop the tracks in even if it slightly changes the naming convention but I don't really care about that anyway.
For those who absolutely cannot use FF, maybe someone will mirror the link somewhere else. I did put 2 small folders up there so we will see how that does.
But pretty much hit the limit on Google and Mega while WT in addition to the 7 day limit also has a 100 hit limit. Tried to activate another Google drive account and hit a brick wall.
If anyone has any better suggestions I will try to pay closer attention this time but likely won't be duplicating labor.
Just because you didn't see this message doesn't mean the terms don't apply.
These are the next folders on the chopping block so get them now but don't send me repost requests, I am not even reading those messages.

Since I am posting 10-15 GB a day that means I have to expire folders a little faster.
Anyway the mystery drive project and all the other masters that weren't posted last year / 2022 comes to an end around June 15th. Then I am taking a long break or at least very reduced activity so maybe stuff will stay active a lot longer if I am not posting so much. But no point in planning that far ahead, as life has a way of getting in the way of obsessions and compulsions, for example last year's plans were derailed by the possibility of losing this place. If that does happen anytime soon or the rents get jacked beyond what I consider possible, this probably all disappears forever. I have an idea of what I wanna do in a few weeks but we'll see.
I just wanted a forum outside the walled garden of torrent sites to make these available efficiently but do not have the means and ability to keep everything permanently hosted or run this as an "on demand" service. There are plenty of forums out there where requests are fielded and filled. This all started when I was locked down and it was all I had to do. Now that I am not locked down going on 3 years maybe I should be getting a job or going to school or something a bit more constructive anyway.
The mystery drive project which first started with a chance meeting in 1994 was consistently the most exciting and fulfilling aspect of my collecting career so when that finally reaches it's conclusion, unless something similar comes along I am likely not staying engaged at this level. I will probably just be like everyone else, hitting the download button when I see something I like. Even shows are becoming boring and redundant a lot of the times. And the importance of any individual recording has seriously waned with so much media already at my fingertips. If anything due to the quality, etc it was more a history project than a music project to me anyway.
We appreciate you even uploading them in the first place. No worries. You do whatever you have to do
ReplyDeletethey should give you a key to the city of L.A. for documenting the music scene. At another site where people post up a storm they use mediafire, sendgb gofile and swisstransfer although I don't know the details of account policy and I have seen Archive .org pages where people have posted authorized and all kinds of unauthorized live music concert recordings. Anyway thanks you've turned me on to a ton of bands I didn't know about.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for everything that you've uploaded so far, good luck with whatever you decide to do next. I for one check this site every day so even if you delete everything every few days that's perfectly ok with me.
ReplyDeleteeasiest way to upload to FF is to zip the contents and then just upload the zip file as one file, by the drag and drop method.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you choose is fine by me, but purely from an easy download POV, may i recommend pixeldrain? Like mediafire etc, DLs rattle down in next-to-no time. Afraid i can't comment on it's upload policy. Like i say though, i'll still be here every day as you've put some blinding gigs up.
ReplyDeleteLoathe File Factory but do whats right for you. Storage etc is a major pain that's why I only do one or two posts a day on my Blog.
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog. I saw your Scorpions post on DIME and came over to check out the blog. I was pleasantly surprised to find the current tour Rolling Stones posts. Thank you! I had to have two leg surgeries in the past week so I am doubtful to attend the Stones here in ATL in two weeks. These recording will help me get through the FOMO. Thanks again! I plan to download some more shows on and after June 1 once my data limit renews on June 1.
ReplyDeletePixeldrain it is. easy to use interface, and stuff expires when no longer in use. Will use this for a bit at least and let the Google drives rest.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it! And not just because I loathe FF, though I do. Pixeldrain has been a great addition to the lineup of reliable, free-to-end-users download service. Hope it works out for you.
