Decades ago I would record live radio broadcasts onto VHS Hi-Fi cassettes, finding the medium more stable and, potentially, the capture of higher-quality than regular old audio cassettes.  The former certainly has proved true, and while the latter is debatable, at least the capture still can be retrieved!

We attended this concert and have been thrilled to have both the audience/complete and WXRT/incomplete versions of it.  The latter, of course, has some great sound, but does suffer from typical FM broadcast compression, let alone WXRT's somewhat heavy-handed dynamic compression.  However, this wasn't a live-broadcast, nor a stadium-loud band roar, so the recording captures the concert fairly well for a one-hour cut-down.

My recording seems to have survived over time, and this is my first digitisation of the source tape.  I've included the radio station intro, outro, and midpoint station ID "tracks" just to reflect the completeness of the broadcast, though I've deleted the extra promo intro and full-credit outro portions, mostly due to annoying inclusion of beer advertisements.  On my own portable copy, I've deleted these tracks altogether, preferring just to hear the band.

And a lovely show it is, one which I'm happy to bring back from the "dead" ... please enjoy!

Seems like the tour excitement is catching on and a few fans have found this page. I don't have anything specifically rare but might as well put it all up. Don't really wanna clear out any of the Google drives so it has to be Pixeldrain. There is a 5GB daily download limit but I probably only have a few days worth. This collection is by no means comprehensive. Share widely if you wish. To be honest going forward - I don't like posting anything I haven't listened to. I lost track and can't really dedicate my life to Oasis right now so it's up to you to point out any flaws, most importantly CD skips from bad rips or too much diginoise - 2 things that make me trash a recording. Anyone have a complete Manchester Dec 1994? The one on Dime is heavily redacted. Can any of the experts recommend anything particularly exciting? Anniversary Posts Are Back! (Or are they?) Or is it still back on Friday?

 I cracked open the text file where I copied in all the anniversary dates and decided to listen to some overflow shows I never got to in years past and arrange at least the next few days. As usual only posting stuff that's been listened to and only if I feel like listening. The amount of garbage shows with CD skips and the like is pretty incredible. CD skips? Really? The fact that I am the only one who makes a note of this just confirms most of us are mindlessly feeding the OCD monkey clicking and downloading anything to file away in case they find a cure for death and want something to listen to in 500 years. That and more than 3 bursts of DAT diginoise gets the recording deemed useless and the folder automatically deleted. Doubt I am resurrecting the method for good and definitely not redoing anything. If anything this might signal me demoting myself to passive listener. In the meantime, enjoy and reshare. More transfers on Friday. I did go to the first show of 2025 Friday though...
